No. I am not a Bush supporter but I believe that he has good intentions in this case.
Poor soul. Ever driven on crossroads without any signs and heavy traffic? Driving through it may be
very risk taking. The Airport Tower is down and communication is nonexistent. Better wait and be safe, than hurry and create another disaster. Think before you leap.
The US or going to love what the EU want really they are, The EU want to use Gitmo as a staging area for all shipments from Europe. That is what the Spainish prime minister said a few hours ago. Since there is so much transport aircraft trying to find landing slots at the one airport in haiti and the military airfield further north is no good So gitmo is about the only real airport that they can use without worrying about having to pay for landing rights.
I can’t answer your question, except to say skepticism of govt. is ALWAYS a good thing.
I trust George Bush very much. So I feel more secure in giving money if he has a say in it.
George Bush received an award not too long ago because he has helped Africans much…
And the US is able to get in, because the US is in charge of the airport… Before, no one could get in, because no one could clear the airport airways.
And the US has learned how to help quickly, and to overcome obstacles that try to prevent the people from getting what they need. Because now, we don’t need permission from the top guy to give a water bottle to someone in need.
And we the people are learning how to handle the crisis. Some send money, but they want it to go to the right people. Because there are those who take the money & run.
But there are legitimate Charities & Missionary groups that have proved time & time again, to go to where the people need them. And to handle donations wisely.
I am impressed with Obama, Bill & George right now. We come together in times of crisis, and in times our neighbor is in crisis.
Haiti is actually really close to the USA, so they are our neighbor.
I don’t think there is any ulterior motive involved in the US government effort.
There were a lot of planes flying into one airport in Haiti from all over the world. The UN plane wasn’t the only one that was diverted to Florida. There were also some military flights that had to return to Florida after circling Haiti for hours but unable to land. I think there should have been a better plan for prioritizing flights. There should have been a priority on doctors and supplies. The last thing Haiti needs is more diplomatic dignitaries and news reporters flying into the airport.
You say ‘i just hate ur government not the ppl’ so I’m guessing you are not from the US.
But I bet whatever country you are from would expect the US to be there for your country in a catastrophic crisis.
It is said that millions in contributions to Haiti have not made it past THEIR government to aid the common people in any way…and you don’t trust OUR government.
No. I don’t think there are any other major motivations for it, I truly do believe it’s out of good will. President Obama appointed $ 100 million to the people of Haiti, and that was out of good will.
Now, yes, obviously there’s also advantages to do it, as in they want to make the US look good. But other countries are doing the same, France, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. But in the end, it’s all about good will first and foremost.

Aid to Haiti is long over due, and it is long over do that the world see how the people of Haiti have been suffering. Before the earth quark, the Haitian people were slowly starving to death. Haiti is the most poorest country in the western hemisphere. Now perhaps the country will get the help it needs to get back on it’s feet.

Why are you causing more controversy than what the world all ready has. If you hate our government so much don’t comment or ask questions in regards to it. Why not help your own country with it’s own affairs.
